Website Terms of Use

1. Who we are

The Site is operated by Plumlink Plumbing Supplies Ltd, trading as Taps and Accessories (we, us or our). Registered office is Unit TP5 The Pompey Centre, Dickinson Road, Southsea, PO4 8ER.

Company number is 10161655

VAT number is 244951003

2. Purpose of the Site

The Site is provided to showcase our product ranges, allow you to browse and buy goods, access guidance and inspiration, manage your account, and contact our customer service team.

Nothing on the Site is intended to amount to technical installation advice, building regulation advice, legal advice or a guarantee that a product is suitable for your project. Product selection remains your responsibility.

3. Changes to the Site and these terms

We may update the Site from time to time, including changing content, withdrawing products, updating pricing, amending functionality or changing these Website Terms of Use. The latest version published on the Site will apply from the date it is posted.

We do not guarantee that the Site, or any content on it, will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free. Access is permitted on a temporary basis.

4. Account and password security

If you create an account, you must ensure that your login details are kept confidential and that the information you provide is accurate, current and complete.

You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authority. We may suspend or disable an account if we reasonably believe there has been a breach of these terms or suspicious activity.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Site. In particular, you must not:

  • Knowingly introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other malicious or technologically harmful material.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers, or connected systems.
  • Attack the Site via a denial-of-service attack or distributed denial-of-service attack.
  • Use the Site for fraudulent purposes.
  • Use automated means to scrape, harvest, copy or monitor the Site without prior written consent.
  • Submit unlawful, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, obscene or misleading material through reviews, forms, chat tools or any user-input feature.

6. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the Site and in the material published on it, including text, photographs, graphics, logos, page layouts, product descriptions, editorial content and software, are owned by us, our licensors or our suppliers and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may print or download extracts for your personal, non-commercial use only. You must not modify copies, remove copyright notices, use illustrations or photography separately from accompanying text, or use any content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

7. Product information and imagery

We aim to display colours, finishes, measurements, specifications and availability information as accurately as possible. However, images are for illustration only. Because bathroom products are often manufactured in batches and viewed on different devices, actual colours, sheen, texture and tone may vary slightly.

Manufacturers may make minor design, specification or packaging changes from time to time. We reserve the right to update product information where necessary.

8. Links to third-party websites

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, applications, payment portals or social media channels. These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over those websites and accept no responsibility for them, their content or their privacy practices.

9. Reliance on content

The content on the Site is for general information only. It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely. Before ordering or arranging installation work, you should check all relevant product dimensions, compatibility requirements, operating pressures, finish suitability and installation instructions.

10. Our liability relating to use of the Site

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under law.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied conditions, warranties, representations or other terms that may apply to the Site or any content on it. We will not be liable for loss of profit, loss of sales, loss of business, business interruption, loss of anticipated savings, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, wasted management time or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the Site. If you are a consumer, this does not affect any rights you have in relation to goods you purchase from us.

11. Viruses

We do not guarantee that the Site will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for using your own virus protection software and configuring your technology in order to access the Site safely.

12. Governing law

These Website Terms of Use, their subject matter and their formation are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction. If you are a business user, the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Terms and Conditions of Sale

These Terms and Conditions of Sale apply when you buy goods from Taps and Accessories through our website, by telephone, by email or by any other distance-selling method that refers to these terms. They explain how a contract is formed, how goods are supplied, and the rights and responsibilities of both parties.

1. Definitions

In this section:

  • Goods means the products supplied by us, including taps, showers, accessories, wastes, valves, fittings and related items.
  • Consumer means an individual acting wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
  • Business Customer means any customer that is not a Consumer.
  • Order means your request to buy Goods from us.
  • Contract means the legally binding agreement formed when we accept your Order.

2. Who may place orders

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract. By placing an Order, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to use the payment method submitted.

3. How the contract is formed

When you place an Order, this is an offer to buy the Goods from us. An automated order acknowledgement does not mean that we have accepted your Order.

A Contract is formed only when we accept your Order and either send you an order-confirmation/dispatch confirmation email or otherwise confirm that the Goods are being processed for supply.

We reserve the right not to accept an Order, for example where Goods are unavailable, there is a pricing or description error, payment is not authorised, fraud is suspected, or a delivery location falls outside our delivery area.

4. Product descriptions and availability

All Goods are subject to availability. Stock messages and lead times are estimates only and do not guarantee same-day dispatch or delivery on a particular date unless expressly confirmed by us.

Many bathroom products must be checked carefully for compatibility before ordering. It is your responsibility to review dimensions, pressure requirements, connection sizes, finish information, pack contents and installation requirements before purchase.

5. Price and payment

The price payable for Goods is the price shown on the Site when you place your Order, except in cases of obvious error. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and, unless clearly stated otherwise, are inclusive of VAT at the applicable rate.

Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout. We currently offer free delivery on qualifying orders over GBP 299 and a standard delivery charge of GBP 3.99 on orders under GBP 299, subject to the Delivery Policy.

Payment must be made in full at the time of order using an available payment method. Payment processing is handled through secure third-party providers including Stripe. Your card issuer or payment provider may carry out validation and security checks.

6. Pricing errors

Despite our best efforts, some Goods may occasionally be incorrectly priced. If the correct price is lower than the price stated, we will charge the lower amount. If the correct price is higher, we may contact you for instructions or reject the Order and notify you.

7. Delivery

We deliver within mainland United Kingdom only, using DPD. Delivery terms, estimated timescales, risk and inspection obligations are set out in more detail in our Delivery Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Any delivery date or time window is an estimate only unless expressly confirmed otherwise. Delays caused by weather, carrier disruption, remote-postcode routing, force majeure, access problems or customer unavailability are outside our reasonable control.

8. Title and risk

Ownership of the Goods passes to you when we have received payment in full and the Goods have been delivered to you or collected by a person identified by you to take possession of them.

Risk in the Goods passes in accordance with applicable law when the Goods come into the physical possession of you or a person identified by you to take possession of them, except where you arrange your own independent carrier not offered by us.

9. Inspection on arrival

You should inspect the Goods as soon as reasonably possible after delivery and before arranging installation. If any item appears damaged, incomplete or incorrect, please notify us promptly and, where possible, within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs of the outer packaging, inner packaging, product labels and the issue identified.

Prompt notification helps us investigate with the carrier and resolve the matter more quickly, but it does not remove your statutory rights.

10. Installation and suitability

Bathroom products should be installed only by a suitably qualified person and strictly in accordance with the manufacturer instructions and applicable regulations or standards.

We strongly recommend that you do not book installers, remove existing fittings, tile around products or otherwise commit to works until all Goods have been delivered, checked and confirmed as suitable and undamaged.

We are not responsible for labour costs, installer charges, project-delay costs, loss of earnings, accommodation costs or other consequential losses arising from late delivery, product issues or product incompatibility, except where such limitation is unlawful.

11. Consumer cancellation rights

If you are a Consumer, you usually have the right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days after the day you receive the Goods, without giving a reason. Full details of cancellation, returns and deductions are set out in our Returns, Refunds and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.

12. Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. If Goods are faulty, not as described or not of satisfactory quality, you may be entitled to repair, replacement, refund or other remedies under applicable consumer law.

We may ask for photographs, further information, inspection access or return of the Goods before confirming an appropriate remedy, particularly where the issue may relate to transit damage, manufacturing defect or installation.

13. Returns of unwanted items

We may accept returns of unwanted Goods in accordance with our Returns, Refunds and Cancellation Policy provided Goods are unused, uninstalled, complete, in original resalable packaging and returned within the stated period. Certain categories may be excluded, including bespoke or special-order items.

14. Warranty

Many Goods are supplied with a manufacturer warranty or guarantee. The length and scope of cover depends on the manufacturer and product range. Warranty terms are in addition to, and do not replace, your statutory rights.

Warranty claims may require proof of purchase, photographs, installation details, evidence of correct maintenance and, where relevant, proof that the product was installed by a qualified professional.

15. Business customers

If you buy as a Business Customer, you confirm that you are purchasing in the course of business. Consumer cancellation rights do not apply to business purchases unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

Business Customers must inspect Goods promptly on delivery and notify us of any shortage, transit damage or incorrect supply within a reasonable period. Subject to mandatory law, our liability to Business Customers is limited to the price paid for the relevant Goods and excludes indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of contract, loss of goodwill and loss of business.

16. Events outside our control

We are not liable for delay or failure to perform obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including industrial disputes, carrier delays, supplier failures, shortage of materials, acts of God, fire, flood, severe weather, pandemic events, cyber incidents, utility failures, import/export issues or governmental action.

Where such an event materially affects your Order, we will seek to keep you informed and may cancel the affected part of the Contract and refund sums paid for unavailable Goods.

17. Intellectual property and misuse

The sale of Goods does not transfer any brand, design, image or intellectual property rights in those Goods beyond your right to use the purchased product in the ordinary way. Product imagery and copy on our website may not be reused without permission.

18. Complaints

If you have a complaint, please contact us using the details published on our Contact page or in the Complaints section below. We aim to resolve complaints fairly and as quickly as possible.

19. General

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remainder remains in force. Delay in enforcing a right does not amount to a waiver. These terms are personal to you and may not be assigned without our consent.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, save that Consumers resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also rely on mandatory protections and bring proceedings in their home jurisdiction.

Delivery Policy

This Delivery Policy explains where we deliver, how charges work, how DPD deliveries are managed and what you should do when your order arrives.

1. Delivery area

We deliver to addresses within mainland United Kingdom only. We do not currently offer international delivery.

All deliveries are fulfilled using DPD or a DPD service partner. Delivery availability remains subject to carrier network coverage, security checks, product size/weight limits and access considerations.

2. Delivery charges

Orders with a goods value of more than GBP 299 qualify for free standard delivery.

Orders with a goods value below GBP 299 are charged at a standard rate of GBP 3.99.

Any clearly advertised promotional delivery terms in force at the time of order will override this standard position for the relevant campaign period only.

3. Delivery timing

Estimated delivery times are shown on the Site, in your basket or in order communications where available. These timescales are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless we expressly confirm a named service.

Orders are processed on working days only. Orders placed on weekends or bank holidays are usually treated as received on the next working day for processing purposes.

Remote or harder-to-reach postcodes may take longer than standard mainland routes even where the same delivery charge applies.

4. Dispatch and tracking

Where an email address or mobile number is supplied, we may send order updates, dispatch confirmations and tracking notifications. DPD may also contact you directly with tracking information, delivery windows or re-delivery options.

Tracking information may take a short period to update after dispatch.

5. Delivery access and failed delivery attempts

It is your responsibility to ensure that the delivery address is accurate and that there is safe and reasonable access for the courier. Please provide any relevant delivery instructions at the time of order.

If delivery fails because nobody is available, the address is incorrect, access is restricted, or the parcel cannot safely be delivered, DPD may attempt redelivery, hold the parcel for collection, or return it to us. Additional charges may apply where further dispatch is required because the failed delivery was not caused by us.

6. Splitting orders

Occasionally, an order may be delivered in more than one parcel or on more than one day, for example where items are stored in different stock locations, packed separately for safe carriage, or made available at different times. We will aim to communicate this where practicable.

7. Inspection on receipt

Please inspect your order carefully as soon as reasonably possible after delivery and before arranging installation or disposing of packaging. Check for visible damage, missing items, finish issues and any obvious discrepancy between what was ordered and what was supplied.

If possible, keep the packaging until you have checked the Goods and are satisfied that the order is complete and undamaged.

8. Damage, shortage or incorrect delivery

If your order arrives damaged, incomplete or incorrect, please contact us promptly at info@tapsandaccessories.co.uk, ideally within 48 hours of receipt. Include your order number, a description of the issue and photographs showing the packaging and affected items.

We may ask you not to dispose of the packaging or damaged item until our investigation is complete.

9. Risk and responsibility

Under consumer law, goods remain at our risk until they come into the physical possession of you or a person identified by you to take possession of them, unless you appoint your own independent carrier not offered by us.

Once delivered, you are responsible for storing the Goods safely and ensuring they are not used, fitted or altered if you later intend to report damage, fault or cancellation.

10. Installation warning

Do not arrange installation, modification works or disposal of existing fittings until all items have been delivered, checked and confirmed as suitable. This is particularly important for coordinated bathroom projects where different products must match in finish and specification.

11. Delivery exclusions and restrictions

We reserve the right to decline, cancel or amend delivery arrangements where there are legitimate reasons to do so, including fraud screening concerns, inaccessible locations, unsafe premises, sanctions restrictions, abnormal parcel conditions, stock discrepancies or carrier limitations.

Returns, Refunds and Cancellation Policy

We want you to feel confident ordering from Taps and Accessories. This policy explains how cancellations, returns, refunds, damaged items and faults are handled. It sits alongside your statutory rights and our Terms and Conditions of Sale.

1. Your legal cancellation right for online orders

If you are a Consumer and you buy online or by another distance-selling method, you usually have the right to cancel your order within 14 days after the day you receive the Goods, without giving a reason.

To exercise this right, tell us clearly before the cancellation period ends by emailing info@tapsandaccessories.co.uk or writing to Unit 27 Hightown Industrial Estate, Crow Arch Lane, Ringwood, BH24 1ND, quoting your order number, the items you wish to cancel and your contact details.

Once you notify cancellation, Goods must be sent back without undue delay and within 14 days unless we agree an arranged collection or different process.

2. Refunds following cancellation

Where you cancel within the legal cancellation period, we will refund the price paid for cancelled Goods and the basic outbound delivery charge paid for that order or relevant part, as required by law. We may deduct where value is reduced by handling beyond what is necessary to establish nature, characteristics and functioning.

We may withhold refund until Goods are received back or you provide evidence of return, whichever is earlier.

Refunds are made using the same payment method originally used for the transaction unless otherwise agreed.

3. Returns of unwanted items outside the legal cooling-off explanation

We may, at our discretion, accept returns of unwanted Goods within 30 days of delivery provided items are unused, uninstalled, complete, in original branded/protective packaging, and in a condition suitable for resale. This discretionary route does not replace statutory 14-day cancellation rights.

Because bathroom fittings are highly presentational and can be difficult to resell once packaging is marked or protective films are removed, returned items must reach us in genuinely saleable condition. We reserve the right to refuse discretionary returns or apply deductions where this standard is not met.

4. Return condition requirements

Returned Goods must not have been installed, plumbed-in, used, modified, cut, painted, sealed, tiled around, exposed to chemicals or otherwise incorporated into any property.

All original accessories, fixings, instruction booklets, labels, protective caps and manufacturer packaging must be included. Do not write directly on manufacturer boxes. If attaching a label, place Goods inside suitable outer packaging first.

You are responsible for taking reasonable care of the Goods while in your possession and in transit back to us.

5. Items that may not be returned or may be restricted

We may refuse returns, or only accept them subject to specific arrangements, for special-order items, bespoke or made-to-order products, items cut or configured to your requirements, hygiene-sensitive items where seals have been broken, products that have been installed or used, and any item returned without adequate protective packaging.

Where a product page or order confirmation states that an item is non-returnable or special order, that status applies in addition to your statutory rights relating to faults, damage or misdescription.

6. Return costs for unwanted items

Unless Goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or otherwise required by law, the cost of returning unwanted items is your responsibility. If we offer carrier collection, any applicable charge may be deducted from your refund or collected in advance.

Because we use DPD for outbound delivery, we may sometimes help arrange a DPD return for eligible items, subject to parcel size, packaging suitability and service availability.

7. Damaged, missing or incorrect items

If your order arrives damaged, includes the wrong product or appears to be missing components, tell us as soon as reasonably possible and preferably within 48 hours of delivery by emailing info@tapsandaccessories.co.uk with your order number, photographs and a short explanation.

Where appropriate, we may offer replacement, part replacement, collection, refund or another suitable remedy after review.

8. Faulty goods and guarantee claims

If you believe an item is faulty, contact us before arranging removal, replacement or remedial works. We may ask for photographs, video, batch numbers, proof of installation circumstances or further technical information.

Where a manufacturer warranty applies, we may administer the claim directly or ask you to follow a manufacturer process. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

9. How to start a return

Please contact info@tapsandaccessories.co.uk with your order number, full name, delivery postcode, item(s) concerned, reason for return, whether packaging is intact, and photographs where relevant. We will then confirm next steps and any return reference required.

Returns sent without prior contact may take longer to process and may be refused if we cannot identify the order or if they do not meet this policy.

10. Refund processing times

Once returned Goods are received and inspected, refunds are normally processed back to the original payment method as soon as possible. Banking times can vary depending on your card issuer or payment provider.

Where only part of an order is returned, the refund will relate to the returned item(s) and any delivery adjustment required by law.

11. Business customers

Business customers do not have statutory cooling-off rights for distance sales. Any return of unwanted Goods by a Business Customer is strictly at our discretion and may be subject to handling charges, restocking charges or refusal.

Business customers should inspect all Goods immediately on delivery and report discrepancies promptly.

12. Important note on installers and project timing

We strongly recommend that you do not book installers or schedule critical project milestones until all items have been delivered and checked. We are not responsible for labour charges or project-delay costs arising from damage in transit, specification mismatch, lead-time changes or warranty assessment.

13. Privacy Policy

Please make sure you have read and understood our Privacy, Security and Cookies page.

Complaints, Faults and Product Advice

Complaints

We want every Taps and Accessories order to arrive exactly as expected. If something has gone wrong, please contact us and we will do our best to put it right quickly and fairly.

Email: info@tapsandaccessories.co.uk

Returns / damages: info@tapsandaccessories.co.uk

Phone: 0333 240 7474

Post: Unit 27 Hightown Industrial Estate, Crow Arch Lane, Ringwood, BH24 1ND

When you contact us, please include your order number, delivery postcode, the item concerned and a short description of the issue. If the matter relates to damage, finish quality, a missing part or a suspected fault, photographs will help us resolve things faster.

We aim to acknowledge complaint messages as quickly as reasonably possible during working hours and keep you updated while the matter is reviewed. In some cases we may need information from the manufacturer or delivery carrier before confirming the final outcome.

Faults / technical issues

If you believe a product is faulty, please stop using it where safe to do so and contact us before arranging repairs, replacement purchases or removal by a third party. Bathroom products can sometimes present symptoms caused by water pressure, installation method, incompatible components, maintenance products or local water conditions rather than an inherent manufacturing defect.

Please include the following details:

  • Order number and date of purchase.
  • Product name / SKU, if available.
  • Clear description of the issue.
  • Photographs or video showing the problem.
  • Whether the item has been installed and by whom.
  • Relevant technical information, such as operating pressure or system type.

Pre-installation advice

Before booking an installer, always check that your order is complete, that the finish is correct, and that all visible items are undamaged. We also recommend checking key compatibility points such as operating pressure, centres, connection sizes, waste compatibility and matching-finish assumptions across the range.

Please keep all original packaging until you are satisfied the items are correct and ready for installation. This helps with safe storage and is important if a return, transit-damage claim or warranty assessment becomes necessary.
